The "L" symbol notes a potentially valuable long shot play. These plays are based on computer analysis of various "angles" which have produced long term positive profits with horses at odds of 8 to 1 or greater. The "B" symbol signifies that both the "+" and "L" symbol apply in this situation.

Key Ratings

Speed Figures & Class Ratings

Speed Figure - TrackMaster assigns a speed figure to each horse's race, where there is enough information to accurately do so. These figures tell you how fast a horse has been performing. It is based on the horse's actual time and other factors, such as the composition and condition of the track.

Class Rating - TrackMaster assigns a class rating to today's and historical races. The class rating for a race is made up of a weighted average of the previous speed ratings from the horses entered in that race. The number is basically a projection of what the expected winning speed rating would be for that particular race.

Avg SR - Average Equibase Speed Figure speed figure over the last ten races.
Avg SR D/S -Average Equibase Speed Figure speed figure over the last ten races at this distance and surface.
Avg CR - Average class rating over the last ten races.
Avg CR D/S - Average class rating over the last ten races at this distance and surface.

NOTE: When ratings are given for distance and surface (D/S), the races included are within one-half furlong of the actual distance being run today.

Pace - Get an idea of how the race will take shape by looking at average running positions at the various calls.

Early - Average running position at the early call.
Mid - Average running position at the middle call.
Fin - Average running position at the finish.
#R - Number of races in the calculation. If an asterisk (*) appears before the number, this means that races on a different surface than today's race were included.
